Project Description
Hosted by Clarkston International Bible Church in Clarkston, GA, Camp Encounter is a 6-week day camp and is an amazing opportunity to help children understand the Gospel and develop a biblical worldview. Thousands of refugees live in Clarkston, and the area has been considered the most diverse square mile in the U.S. for many years! Although the camp’s demographics are diverse, the majority of campers are Ethiopian and Asian. Summer missionaries will be serving former and current refugee campers, including many who have never heard the Gospel and do not know Christ!
Monday to Friday, summer missionaries will have the opportunity to lead one of the tracks (Science, Sports, Academics, Art) or be a group leader at camp. They’ll participate in home visits and community outreaches as they grow as a missionary. In addition, summer missionaries will interact with nearly 300 volunteers who come on mission trips to serve at camp and will help the church disciple high school students who serve as camp counselors throughout the summer.
