545 Wellness Community

545 Wellness Community

What is 545 Wellness Community? It is an online community for those who desire accountability for exercise and perhaps weight loss. The program is open for pastors, ministry staff, and family members of pastors and ministry staff.

What does 545 stand for? Exercise 5 times a week for at least 30 minutes each time. This program is for (4) 5 months.

  • 5 = exercise 5 times a week for 30 minutes
  • 4 = for
  • 5 = months

A second optional goal can be to lose 5 pounds a month for 5 months. Participants can add this goal to their exercise goal if they want to be held accountable.

How will the program work? Individuals who sign up will be emailed a report form each week through the 5-month period. The form will have a place to report number of times exercised during the week.

Two optional goals may be completed as well:

  • Total minutes exercised the previous week.
  • Total pounds lost. Should the person desire to be held accountable for weight loss, he will weigh in to start the program and report his weight each week.

A weekly email will be sent to each participant that will include encouragement, testimonies, and instruction.

There will be 2 sessions in 2026. The first will last from January through May. The second will last from July through November. A celebration of accomplishments will be held during the Summit 2026 and may include a 5K walk/run. T-shirts will be given to those who participate throughout a session. Other gifts may be given to those who complete both sessions. Awards for most minutes exercised and most weight loss will be given.

Why do we need this program? Pastors are not physically fit. TBC ministers reported in the minister survey of Feb. 2025 that 61 percent exercise 1-2 times a week or less. Thirty percent exercise 2 times or less each month. According to the American Medical Association, a person needs to exercise at least 150 minutes a week to maintain one’s health.

Accountability is the secret to change and sticking with a goal. Read about this study.

Minister wellness is a holistic term describing a leader’s health in many areas including physical health. Regular exercise, like brisk walking 30 minutes a day, helps a person to feel better and to feel better about themselves. Exercise reduces stress and every minister can use less stress. Regular exercise improves mood and leads to better sleep.

We want to help ministers to get healthier in 2026 through the 545 Wellness Community. When you sign up, you will report weekly progress and receive encouraging feedback. No one is going to be looking over your report to criticize. Rather, you will be encouraged, prayed for, and connected to others on the same journey. If you have failed on New Year’s resolutions and have given up, try it one more time- with support and accountability. Imagine your life, feeling better, 20-25 pounds lighter, sleeping better at night, pulling out those clothes you put back and thought you would never wear again. It is not a pipe dream but a real possibility. You can do this. Let’s do it together!

Sign up today and you will be emailed the details. Make 2026 the year you Serve Well.
