May 14, 2026

TN WMU Prayer Walking Mission Team to Toronto – May 14-18, 2026

Tennessee WMU is sending a Prayer Walking Mission Team to Toronto, Ontario, Canada, to serve alongside IMB missionaries. The team will prayer walk, encourage missionaries and local leaders, and assist in community engagement.

Requirements:

  • Complete IMB application (questionnaire, 3 references, confidentiality document, background check – $25)
  • Age 18+
  • Valid passport book (passport cards won’t work for air travel)

Costs (paid by team members):

  • Airfare to/from Toronto
  • Subway travel, lodging (4 nights), and meals

Why Toronto:

  • One of the world’s most diverse cities – Greater Toronto Area population: 6.5 million, with over 50% foreign-born (vs. 12% in Nashville)
  • Only 3% evangelical population
  • Over 2 million residents speak a primary language other than English: 410,000 speak Chinese, 100,000+ Tagalog, 56,000 Arabic
  • Growing populations of Buddhism, Islam, Sikhism, Hinduism, Judaism, and other world religions
  • Largest Tibetan population outside Tibet

Statistics only glimpse the reality. Each community visit and ministry opportunity reveals a city full of stories and needs. The entire world is represented in Toronto, including people from countries we cannot enter, making this mission work have potential global impact.

IMB partners with the Canadian National Baptist Convention, North American Mission Board, and Send Relief to plant churches and train local organizations in evangelism and discipleship.
