TBMB team wins record 20 BCA awards

MOBILE, Ala. — The Tennessee Baptist Mission Board’s communications team won 20 awards in the 62nd annual Wilmer C. Fields Awards Competition during the Baptist Communicators Association’s awards banquet April 14 in Mobile.

“I could not be more proud of our communications team,” said Chris Turner, TBMB communications director and Baptist and Reflector editor. “These awards represent a recognition of the high standard of work we do every day on behalf of the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board and in service to Tennessee Baptists. And they were well earned in the midst of a very difficult year of reorganization. It is a testimony to the quality of people we have and their level of professionalism.”

The 20 awards were the most ever won in a single year by the communications team and brings its 11-year total of BCA awards to 105.

““I believe our TBMB communications team is an example of sustained excellence, and it is a privilege for us to serve the Lord and Tennessee Baptists with the gifts and calling the Lord has given us,” said Turner.

The BCA comprises members from across the Southern Baptist Convention who represent churches, associations, state conventions, North American Mission Board, International Mission Board, seminaries, Baptist universities, foundations, children’s homes and more.
