FEBRUARY CP GIVING BELOW BUDGET GOALS

NASHVILLE (BP) – Cooperative Program giving dipped in February, with receipts totaling about $1.5 million short of the $19 million goal. Year-to-date totals are around 2.5% below budget targets.

Designated giving of around $48.5 million for February also was lower than last February’s $51.4 million.

February National Cooperative Program giving:

  • Monthly budgeted amount: $19,000,000.00
  • February 2026 giving: $17,410,035.33
  • Above/below budget: $1,589,964.67 (8.37%) below budget

Total National Cooperative Program giving:

  • Year-to-date budgeted amount: $83,030,000.00
  • Year to date giving: $80,973,286.51
  • Above/under budget: $2,056,713.49 (2.48%) below budget

Designated giving:

  • February giving: $48,543,972.81
  • Year to date giving: $84,247,976.54
  • Previous year to date total: $86,580,789.94
  • Above/below previous year: $2,332,813.40 (2.69%) below the previous year

The Convention-adopted budget for 2025-2026 is $190,000,000 which includes a $3,000,000 special priority allocation for SBC legal expenses.

Cooperative Program funds are then disbursed as follows:

  • 50.41% to international missions through the International Mission Board
  • 22.79% to North American missions through the North American Mission Board
  • 22.16% to theological education through the six SBC seminaries and the Southern Baptist Historical Library and Archives
  • 2.99% to the SBC operating budget
  • 1.65% to the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission.

If national CP gifts exceed the budget projection at the end of the fiscal year, the balance of the overage is distributed according to the percentages approved for budgetary distribution. The SBC Executive Committee distributes all CP and designated gifts it receives on a weekly basis to the SBC ministry entities.

CP allocation budget gifts received by the Executive Committee are reported monthly to the executives of the entities of the convention, to the state convention offices and to the state Baptist papers and are posted online at sbc.net/cp.
