PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Ministering to people’s basic physical, emotional, and intellectual needs opens the door to minister to the greatest need of all: the spiritual need. As a Summer Missionary, you and other Missionaries will serve alongside Baptist Friendship House, assisting with human trafficking ministries and having the opportunity to participate in outreach to the unhoused by giving out items they might need. Depending on your strengths and interests, you will have opportunities to minister to others through leading Bible studies, literacy training, pottery ministry, teaching adult basic education, computer skills, job readiness skills, life skills, etc. As you serve you’ll be encouraged to open your eyes, see all that is around you in New Orleans, and then reach out and make a difference.

Potential Schedule:

  • Monday: Outreach & Organization
  • Tuesday: Meal, Food, Clothing, & Hygiene Distribution to Unhoused Individuals
  • Wednesday: Showers, Clothing for Unhoused Women, & Art/Group Mentorship
  • Thursday: Women’s Bible Study
  • Friday: Outreach & Organization
