SUMMARY:Youth Mental Health First Aid Training
DESCRIPTION:Youth Mental Health First Aid is a 8-hour for adults who regularly interact with young people ages 12 to 18 – youth ministers/workers\, parents\, teachers\, school staff\, etc. This training will introduce common mental health challenges for youth\, review typical adolescent development\, and teach a 5-step action plan to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Topics include anxiety\, depression\, substance use\, disorders in which psychosis may occur\, disruptive behavior disorders\, and eating disorders. \nClick here to learn more about the course. \nJune 27\, 2025 in Chattanooga from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. \nREGISTER ONLINE \nCost $10 for lunch \nMaximum of 30 participants. \nParticipants are required to complete all 3 parts of the training: \n\nself-guided online course prework (takes about 15-30 minutes to complete\, must be completed before course date)\ninstructor-led in person training – June 27\, 2026\, at Mountain Creek Baptist Church from 8:30 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.\nself-guided online course completion work (takes about 30 minutes to complete)\n\nAfter all training has been completed\, you will officially be certified as a Youth Mental Health First Aider and receive a certificate. \nRegistration closes on June 16 or sooner if the maximum of 30 participants is reached.
